Modernizing operations is never a small undertaking, especially for a family-owned business with deep community roots. But for Julie and Lauren Gorman, the mother-daughter team behind a well-established appliance and lighting store in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, the decision to upgrade wasn’t about keeping up with the latest technology. It was about doing what was right for their business, their team, and their customers.

At HomeSource, our goal is to help retailers run a smarter and streamlined operation. When the Gormans chose our Complete Business Management System (CBMS) and committed to our on-site White Glove implementation service, we knew we had the opportunity to help drive lasting impact.

Finding the Right Solution

Before partnering with HomeSource, Julie and Lauren had been looking for a system that could truly support the way they run their business. After being introduced to our systems and services, they quickly saw our Complete Business Management System (CBMS) as a clear match.

“It checked all the boxes. Everything we were looking for in a system that no one else had,” Lauren explained.

From point-of-sale to e-commerce to service workflows, our CBMS platform is designed to centralize everything together in one place while still adapting to the way each store operates.

Implementation That Works

The Gormans chose our White Glove implementation service, which includes three days of in-store support from our team. Lou and Michael, two of our seasoned implementation specialists, joined them on-site to help with setup, inventory, and training.

“We had over a thousand pieces of inventory to scan. Michael and I knocked it out while Lou trained our office staff,” Lauren recalled. “There’s no way we could have done this remotely.”

In a high-volume, customer-facing business, downtime isn’t an option. That’s why our White Glove service is built for speed, accuracy, and adaptability. By embedding ourselves in the process, we help ensure business continuity while the system comes online.

Reducing Risk and Errors

From day one, the CBMS platform began eliminating inefficiencies. Manual processes were replaced with streamlined digital workflows. Serial numbers were no longer handwritten. Order fulfillment became faster and more accurate.

“There’s really no room for mistakes anymore,” Lauren said. “The system doesn’t let errors through. If something doesn’t match, it won’t go out the door.”

The team gained full visibility into inventory, orders, and sales—without relying on paper logs or disconnected systems. Work that used to be time-consuming and manual became faster and easier to manage.

Training That Delivers

One of the clearest indicators of success was how quickly the team adapted to the new system. Lou and Michael ensured that every staff member received the hands-on guidance they needed.

“I’d say most of the team had it down after a few days,” Julie said. “The in-person support made all the difference.”

While training resources and videos played a supporting role, the value of real-time coaching and personalized instruction during live operations proved to be essential.

Built for Their Business

No two retailers operate the same way. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, we believe in building around how our customers actually work.

For Julie and Lauren, that meant understanding their well-established routines and tailoring our implementation process to support their day-to-day operations.

“You hadn’t worked with many companies like us before,” Lauren noted. “But your team adjusted the process and listened.”

By working closely together, we helped integrate CBMS into their business in a way that felt natural, not disruptive. That kind of collaboration is key to making technology truly work for the people who use it.

A Strong Business, Ready for the Future

Julie and Lauren lead a business that has been part of their community for nearly 30 years. Today, their business is now equipped with a system that not only supports their growth, but simplifies how they serve customers every day.

“It’s a great system. You just need the right help to get started. Lou and Michael were phenomenal,” said Lauren and Julie.

Our team was proud to be part of their transformation. It’s partnerships like this that reflect the best of what HomeSource offers: a combination of powerful technology, tailored support, and a commitment to our customers’ long-term success.
